ABSTRACTS

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION IS OPEN!

We invite abstracts from all areas of physical limnology on scales, from the Great Lakes to small urban ponds, from Arctic latitudes to the tropics, and from pristine lakes to degraded mining pits.
The conference is primarily focused on how different physical processes influence various biological, chemical, or geological dynamics. Specific processes of interest might include:
  • Under-ice processes in cold environments
  • Impacts of climate change on changing lake hydrodynamics
  • Dynamics of large reservoir systems
  • Sediment transport processes in lakes
  • Ebullition and methane production
  • Interactions between fish, plankton and hydrodynamics
  • Mixing and internal waves in stratified water bodies
  • Circulation in mining pit lakes or urban ponds
  • How paleolimnology can inform physical limnology

Submission requirements:

  • Please submit the abstract as a PDF with the filename: Last_First_abstract.pdf
  • Please keep your abstract length between 200 words and one page.
  • Please use 11pt Times Roman typeface and single line spaced
  • The abstract should be in English.
  • You are encouraged to include figures and pictures in your abstract, as long as they fit in the single page limit
  • If references are used, please follow the reference style provided below.
  • These abstracts will be compiled and distributed at the conference.

You may submit your abstract using the provided template below by February 26, 2025 to info-ppnw2025@queensu.ca

The committee looks forward to reviewing your submission!
